An M-Fuge Love Moment

A couple of weeks ago, I went to M-Fuge at North Greenville University in Tigerville, SC with the youth of Yates Baptist Church.  Many moments stood out, which I will post more video of later on, but this one needed to be talked about first.

This was my fourth M-Fuge and eighth summer missions trip in which I’ve led.  Every year, camp romances happen, as girls and guys go all out trying to impress one another in the hopes of starting some long-distance relationship after camp ends.  Seriously, I thought I’d seen it all, but all I have to say is that all you teenagers are now on notice because after what I saw at this last M-Fuge, you’re going to have to step your game up.  One kid decided to do an I Love You, Beth Cooper moment, and it went a little bit like this…

During “The AM Show” on Thursday morning, the worship leader told the story about how he was hanging out with some of the youth the previous afternoon and a guy came up to him to tell him about this girl in his Bible study group he liked.  He handed the worship leader a note with the lyrics to a song he wrote and asked if he would sing it during “The AM Show” the following morning.  So the worship leader calls the guy down, who looks like he’s about 12 or 13.  Then he calls the girl down, who looks to be 16 or 17, and then the following happens.

While this obviously looks staged, one of our youth told us that he talked with the worship leader and found out that it actually happened in Week 2 and they decided to do it every week for the rest of the summer.
