The Road to Carmichael

On the way home this afternoon, I was listening to Mark Packer’s radio show and he was talking about how The University of North Carolina can redeem this horrible basketball season, calling it The Road to Carmichael. The details are…
- Go ahead and accept NIT bid.
- Announce all home games will be played in Carmichael Auditorium.
- Wear the silver bullet uniforms for the whole tournament.
- Go old school… no air conditioning, bring back the “N.C. vs. Vis.” manual scoreboard, no ribbon boards, HD scoreboard or frills.
- Most importantly, when UNC wins the NIT and cuts down the nets in Madison Square Garden, hang the banner in Carmichael Auditorium and NEVER mention of this season EVER AGAIN. “NIT… what are you talking about? We’re ready for next year. You want to see the banner? Go to a women’s game. The 2009-2010 season never happened.”
Can you imagine the sight? Carmichael Auditorium hot and rockin’ as the Campbell Fighting Camels come rolling in at 23-10 for a first round NIT game and get ran out of the building. It would be awesome. Dean could be on the sidelines for this event. It would be a great way to salvage the 100th season of Carolina basketball.
Let’s make this happen…
