I’m so glad my family got me a Nintendo Wii for Christmas. It’s moments like these that just make my day. EA Sports is bringing back “NBA Jam”, the 2-on-2 arcade basketball game that stole a billion quarters from me back in the day. I spent way too many days over at Yesterday’s arcade in Wilkes Mall in heated contests, setting up windmill dunks and setting the rims ablaze when Scottie Pippen was “on fire.”

The “remix” version of the game is set to arrive on the Nintendo Wii this year, but no word if a classic version will be included. Frankly, the game is worthless if I can’t set up a game featuring Larry Johnson and Alonzo Mourning of the Hornets versus John Stockton and Karl Malone of the Jazz in HD.

Thank goodness for people with entirely too much time on their hands, because they are able to provide this kind of quality entertainment. Somebody who really loves RBI Baseball for Nintendo and really hates the Red Sox has put together this little masterpiece. The entire 1986 Boston Red Sox World Series meltdown has been retold through the good ole’ Nintendo, complete with Vin Scully’s call. Somehow Buckner’s error and Mookie Wilson’s game winning RBI have been totally redone exactly, right down to balls and strikes. Yep, Bob Stanly still can’t close the deal even on the video game.

EA Sports new NCAA basketball game comes out on November 18. The other day, I just found out that this duo will be the announce team.

YESS!!!! The Greatness that is Gus Johnson and Bill Raferty will be the announce team for NCAA Basketball ’10. CBS should have done this YEARS ago and made them the team for the Final Four. Anyway, here’s a sneak preview of the game.

The “HA HA!” at the end just gave me goosebumps. Bravo EA, I will have to go buy a XBOX 360 or PS3 now to get this game.

Update: CBS has allowed EA to integrate their entire graphics package into the game. Here’s the video with bonus Gus and Raftery interview…

Now that just looks awesome. I think EA has completely sold me on NCAA 2010 now. Bravo gentlemen… bravo.

Beth bought me this game for Christmas. The game-play isn’t much different from previous versions. The most notable key feature to me is the “Next-Level Authenticity” which provides authentic team ratings to replicate real-life team behaviors and tendencies.

Basically, it’s another way of saying that I can’t take my alma mater, Gardner-Webb, to the NCAA title game as a 15-seed like I’ve done in a previous version of this game, but I can beat Kentucky by almost 20 points in Rupp.

The preview clip of the game is below and it’s certainly worth a look. If not for the technical aspects and voice overs, but at least for Erin Andrews. Enjoy!
